An official App of the Familistere de Guise
Jeanne’s Guided Tour is an easy to understand visitor’s application for touring the Familistère. It’s is intended for young children and for visitors with intellectual handicaps. Jeanne is a little 8 –year old girl who lived at the Familistère 150 years ago. She helps us discover what life what like back then at the Familistere, by leading us to different locations: the Palace, the Theatre, The Laundry-Pool, the gardens…
The visit is comprised of twelve stages.
Jeanne’s short descriptions are illustrated with lovely old photographs of daily life at the Familistère.
At the end of each stage of the visit, an animated map helps the visitor to situate themselves and find their way around the Familistère.
The application “Jeanne’s Tour” was created with the help of Mathilde Jolivet-Martin (Accès Libres) and the Union of Handicapped Persons Associations of Aisne. The application was created thanks to the support of the Department of Aisne and the French government (FNADT).
